Preparing for the National Jamboree with CanSat

We spent a day preparing 13 Venture Scouts and Boy Scouts on June 2. These bright and adventurous young scouts will be introducing the functionalities of the CanSat to 40,000 other scouts at the 2017 National Jamboree held at Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia in July. They learned how CanSat is the perfect tool for capturing data, investigating phenomena and analyzing data while outdoors.
This group will be constructing their CanSat payload for a high altitude balloon reaching 100,000 ft and preparing another payload reaching 62 miles leaving the earth’s atmosphere for about 4 minutes in space.
We are extremely proud and excited to be working with this group of Scouts. They are curious, funny, active, well mannered, and have the skill and discipline to resolve their own differences in a group. They have named themselves CaliMag13.
