Overview
Race to Space is a fundraising event that is designed to raise awareness and funds for your school and other schools like yours across the US.
You set the goal that you need and reach out to your parents and the community to meet your goal. Others schools in the Race to Space will do the same. There are no management fees for this. All the funds you raise will be credited directly to your program.
In addition to individual school campaigns, Magnitude will be running a Master Campaign in which anyone can donate. Funds from the Master campaign will be used to help schools that would otherwise be unable to join us on this historic project. These funds may also assist schools that were close to their goal but were unable to reach it. Again, 100% of funds raise go to purchasing satellite access with educational kits for your teams.
When does it begin?
The Race to Space will open on November 1, 2013 and run through the end of the year. Magnitude will be reaching out to various media outlets to build interest in the event. We will assist you locally as well with background information and that you can share with your local newspapers, television, and radio stations.
Because this is a Race to Space, all campaigns will begin at the same time. We are still working out the rewards for those that have sponsored Race to Space, and should have them available within the next week.
How does it work?
Working with Fundrazr and Paypal, we’ve created a Master Campaign to raise the highest level of awareness. We will work with you on creating a social widget that you can then place on your Facebook page, school website, or blog. The widget code allows your supporters to view, share and donate to your project without ever leaving your site. Once they have donated the message can be shared further across the social networks, helping you achieve your goal.
