Happy New Year
Your students can get teaching that is out of this world.
We are excited to continue our project-based earth and physical science program based on the new Next Generation Science Standards. Over 1,000 students in the Bay Area are currently enrolled in the program this spring, and we encourage you to come check out what we are doing for grades 6-12.
Students learn about the world around them through a simulated satellite called a CanSat. Earth and Physical sciences are investigated with in-class experiences. The capstone of the program is with a high powered rocket launch, or high altitude balloon launch that travels 3 times higher than a commercial airliner where you and your students can track the balloon in real time and recover a video that shows the curvature of earth against the backdrop of space.
The program is nearly full, and there are a few slots left for Spring 2016.

January Sport Launch at NASA Ames
Come join us and the National Association of Rocketry local rocketeers for the next sport launch on January 16, 2016 at Moffett Field in Mountain View. The flight ceiling is limited to 1000 feet, and restricted to low power flights only.
You and/or your students can bring your own rockets to fly and see teams testing their rockets for upcoming competition. There are no concessions or retail purchases available at the location.
We can provide an introduction to the Magnitude CanSat and share the different instruments you and your students can operate to learn about the world around them through Next Generation Science Standards across Earth and Physical sciences.
You will need to show photo ID to enter the facility. This is a great introduction to the physics of rockets, and instruments that measure the world around us.

High Power Rocket Launch
You are welcome to visit the launch site on any of these dates as an observer. You and/or your district are responsible to coordinate the transportation of your students.
Directions to Snow Ranch can be found at http://www.lunar.org/
High Altitude Balloon Launch
Working with you teachers and volunteers we can also bring Next Generation Science Standards far above the clouds. More than 3 times higher than a commercial airliner, your students can track your balloon on the internet and recover video that shows the curvature of the earth!
Balloon flights are convenient, as we can most likely fly directly from your school campus with FAA approval, but there is very limited availability due to the logistics involved. Please contact us today to coordinate an experience like this.
Video captured from the balloon launch at 100,000ft.
