How will we feed astronauts on long duration missions to the Moon and Mars? How can we live more sustainably and rejuvenate our topsoil on Earth? These driving questions will propel students to explore authentic space biology research during the ExoLab-9 mission to the International Space Station. By investigating the effects of spaceflight on the growth of legumes and their symbiotic Rhizobia bacteria, students will critically evaluate and develop solutions for sustainable living in space and on Earth. Join this global initiative that brings space science to students of all ages through an exceptional hands-on STEM experience.
The ExoLab-9 mission is scheduled to launch to the International Space Station on 8/18/2021 on SpaceX-23 from Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA. Be part of the mission research team by conducting ground trials with your students and monitoring the experiment while it's in space.
